Adat takes advantage of our location in Southern California with field trips that extend learning beyond the classroom walls. From Valley Village, our school trips go as far north as Sacramento, as far south as Long Beach to the Aquarium, as far west as the Pacific Ocean, and as far east as Israel. Whether creating new inventions at science camp, shaping the future at leadership camp, roughing it on a Colonial-era farm, panning for gold, or visiting a 16th century printing press, Adat kids are ready for the world. The following are just a few of our regular field trips:
Familiarity with Israel is an essential part of the lives of our students. Among our many Israel-related activities, we’ve been part of the Jewish Federation‘s Los Angeles-Tel Aviv Partnership Program for more than a decade — our school is “twinned” to an Israeli school. Adat children gain great emotional, social, and intellectual growth, both through the process of hosting students from Israel and traveling to Israel themselves. As part of the “mishlachat” (delegation), students participate in programs that create cohesiveness between the state of Israel and the Jews of the Diaspora, partake in the daily lives of their hosting families, attend school, and visit important landmarks both in Los Angeles and in Israel—developing personal and lasting relationships with the land of Israel and her people, a true connection that lasts a lifetime.
